Q1: Does anyone know if USB3.0 flash drives are supported for installing OSX Mavericks Q2: Does anyone know if Boot Camp Assistant now supports USB3.0 flash drives. Now I have a bootable USB drive which can both install ML and run diagnostics.
Diskwarrior 4.4 Dmg Mac You CanYes but with a Mac you can just boot to Internet install mode. How well does that work 7,000 miles West of California I wonder. Thanks Strangely, for a similar sluggishness problem and weird HD churn noises, a remedy I found for my MacBook 13 was to use DiskUtility to erase all unused space with basic mode. After reboot both speed of switching apps and the HD noise were gone. Now if temperature control were available, I wouldnt have an additional warmer in bed on Saturday mornings. What have I missed that this process provides At the very least, this method can be used with an 8GB flash drive, where your method would undoubtedly require more space (which realistically isnt that dificult or expensive these days). Im not 100 as this used to be the case, but you might not be able to boot your version of Mavericks with other Macs. Now that the hardware isnt significantly different, it might not be the case anymore (as with your method the experience would be similar to trying, say, booting a Mac Pro from a MacBook Pro running in Target Disk Mode). But hey, Apple might just include everything now anyway so Im not so sure. Either waynthats not an important thing for a majority of users to worry about, but I have a dozen or so different machines to load it on. Otherwise, with an official bootable copy such as this it will absolutely be useable on any machine that can run Mavericks. Diskwarrior 4.4 Dmg How To Physically AddWhat Im wondering is how to physically add iLife to the automatic installation as with the recovery disks of old. So with a MacBook Pro mid 2010 13 I dont need to care about Recovery Partition being created or not with a clean install, right Because its firmware is probably not prepared (and I dont think it ever got updated by Apple, right) for making use of the Recovery Partition anyway I really want to do a clean install this time: the MBP just feels very slughish these days, coming from Snow Leopard over Lion to Mountain Lion. I didnt feel the need to clean install, but I guess it doesnt hurt if you do. Even though Lion came out in 2011, Apple released a firmware updates that enables OS X internet recovery for a bunch of older systems, including the 2010 MBPs. Diskwarrior 4.4 Dmg Download It FromIt should have appeared in Software Update a while ago, but you can still manually download it from Apples site if you need to. When you install OS X, it makes a small hidden partition that only contains some basic stuff like Disk Utility, Safari, Terminal, and an installer that redownloads the rest of OS X from the internet (so it doesnt waste GBs of space on your drive doing nothing). Its still not quite the same as a physical DVD or USB drive, but it does come in handy. In the past Ive always madeused bootable flash drives for clean installing OSs. I havent yet tried installing any version of OSX with a USB3.0 flash drive, however I do remember Win78 failing to install with the bootable USB3.0 flash drive installer that Id created using Boot Camp Assistant.
